Voice Over Demos For Actors
Eamonn Farrell is a Brooklyn-based, voice-over, media, and theatre director.
He is also a working voice-over artist himself and has voiced animations,
cartoons, industrials, radio spots, commercials, and documentary narration.
As the voiceover director for Vertical Learning Curve, an animation company specializing in online education, Eamonn was responsible for casting the voice talent and directing the voice recordings for animation so he has an understanding of what it takes to get cast based on a demo. Speaking into a microphone is very different from acoustic vocal production but with a few pointers, an actor's inherent abilities can come to bear in the recording booth. Working in the high-output environment of an animation studio gave Eamonn valuable experience in quickly training actors of all backgrounds to adapt to the medium of voice-over.

For a flat fee of $300 for a commercial demo, Eamonn will:

Consult with you via telephone about what you're looking to do and discuss the timeframe.

Select a variety of effective copy for you and help you find your own copy.

Schedule a recording session at his studio where he will guide you through the copy, helping you to get comfortable with the microphone and the material and then record as many takes of each of the spots as is necessary to get the perfect take.

Select and process the final takes, adding sound effects and music as necessary and send you an mp3 draft of the demo (usually around one minute for a standard commercial demo).

You and he will discuss possible cuts and changes which he will then make and send you the final demo in mp3 and full quality versions.
